Recession is a mindset. Wealth is inherent yet must be manifest.

I have coached and mentored people for the past 11 years from many walks of life and have more recently spent most of that time working with “creatives” in the artistic community. Today’s meditation was born out of a common occurrence that continues to puzzle me, that being how many creative people with amazing gifts, talents and skills perpetually struggle to make ends meet. Many would speak to me of their financial straights with such a defeated and solution-less outlook, often after worrying themselves into a state of debilitating depression.

I struggled to grasp what was happening because what many of these creatives didn’t realize is that I was just as much, if not more, in awe of them for their amazing talents, skills and potential as they were of me as a great voice into their lives. To see these brilliantly talented people struggle with providing the basic necessities for themselves really made me ponder their outlook concerning their inherent wealth and perhaps more importantly, their inherent worth.

The Scripture reveals that the Creator has given every person the ability to create wealth. Each soul that enters the realm of existence does so with wealth-generating creative ability. This divine enablement is to provide the life-essentials for that person and to fund every detail of that individual’s life and responsibilities according to their specific purpose and destiny. The same Creator who gives life also provides every necessary resource that will enable the creation to thrive in life according to His original intention, which existed before that life was brought forth.

We often use the terms creative and artistic to describe the community of people that have committed their lives to the arts. I recently stopped using that term in that way. The reason why I did is because everyone, not just artists, is creative. Whether one embraces their power to create is a different story yet their creative ability is a reality. We all were created in the image of the Creator meaning that we are creative. We have the ability to create things, and believe it or not, we create things with our lives each day. Whether we are writing a script or working on an assembly line at a manufacturing plant, we are creating. The first is bringing forth thoughts and ideas that will one day culminate into a finished product watched on television or on a movie screen. The other is “creating” their part of what will become the manifestation of, perhaps, a vehicle that originally was just an idea. Both scenarios involve people using the skills they possess inherently, to create something that is manifested externally that will reward them with wealth and resources.

The challenge to manifesting our inherent wealth is manifold, yet one foundational issue seems to be commonplace. That challenge is the absence of genuine belief in the value of one’s inherent creativity. We must believe that what we already have is the key to anything else that we will ever need. Oftentimes we find ourselves searching externally to add value to our lives when what we should be looking at is already in our possession. The notion of lack is a great distraction from progress. When we believe that we are lacking something we spend valuable time and energy focused on what we don’t have and wondering how to get something to fix the problem. The greatest problem is not what we think we lack, but is really about not recognizing what we do have and what to do with it to create increase. The proper perspective is to rejoice in the reality that as long as we have breath in our body, we have wealth inside already waiting to be manifest.

Even potential employers understand that your value is determined by your ability to manifest inherent wealth. When you go on a job interview, notice that you are hardly ever asked about what you currently own or how much cash you have in the bank. In the interview process you are evaluated on what you know, have learned and have achieved and are selected and compensated based, not on what you have done for the company, but on your potential to generate revenue according to your inherent ability.

Right Now…you already possess everything that you need to provide for yourself, to handle your responsibilities and to get you to the next level of your life. You are never out of options nor are you ever truly broke. You are a walking, talking, breathing bank, with more wealth in your vault than you could ever spend. The key is manifesting into your hand, what is in your heart and believing that your inner merchandise is valuable. Believe this, act upon it and you will never know lack.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for creating me with the ability to create wealth. Lord, teach me how to manifest into my hands, what you have placed within my heart. Remove from my consciousness the notion of lack and replace it with the revelation of abundance. Since recession is simply a mindset, may I never have another broke day in my life. Amen.
